Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways to volunteer with Maggie's Place!  We would love to put your talents and abilities to use in helping with the needs of our homes.  We work with individuals and groups!

One-time Opportunities

If you want to participate in Work Saturdays or perform one time volunteer help (such as yard work or cleaning), you do not need to attend the orientation. The orientation is geared for those individuals that would like to volunteer on a more regular basis, especially in ways that are in more direct contact with the moms and the functions of the house.

  • Magdalene House (Phoenix, AZ) Next Work Saturday is March 6 from 9am-noon.
  • Mary House (Coeur d'Alene, ID) Work Saturday September 12th  9:00am to 1:00pm Lunch Provide
  • Elizabeth House (Tempe, AZ) Work Saturday September 12th 8:00am to 11:30am
  • Michael House (Glendale, AZ) Work Saturday September 26th From 9:00am to 11:00am
  • Zechariah House (Cleveland, OH) Work Saturday July 25th 9:00am to 1:00pm lunch provided 

There are many ways to support the Maggie's Place community on a one-time basis:

  • Organize a drive for supplies
  • Help with one of our "Work Saturdays"
  • Plan a presentation for the mothers
  • Cook a meal for the community
  • Coordinate a special project (i.e. repainting a home, "handyman" days, hosting a baby shower) 

Ongoing Opportunities

  • Babysit during our group therapy, Women of Worth
  • Assist with house coverage (answering the phones, etc)
  • Get involved with our fundraising efforts
  • Sit at an informational table

Join Our Community as a... (Click links below.)

If a woman is interested in being a guest at Maggie's Place, she must:

  • be able to provide proof of pregnancy
  • be at least 18
  • have no other children in her custody
  • be free from drugs and alcohol for a period of time
  • not be fleeing a current domestic violence situation
  • willing to live in accordance with the established rules.
  • committed to working on goals of self-improvement.

A Brief Overview:

  • Women come from around the country to live in community
  • Commit to one year or more of volunteer service
  • Work one-on-one with one or two mothers
  • Take turns being on duty in the house and share admin tasks
  • Provided: monthly stipends, room and board, medical insurance
  • Summer staff positions available
  • The minimum age for summer staff is 18; for full-time staff it is 21

Some typical volunteer tasks:

  • Clean or Yard Work
  • Cook Meals
  • Data Entry / Office Work
  • Sort and Organize Donations
  • Run Errands
  • Write Thank You Notes
  • Tutor Moms / Give Presentations
