Remembering Maggie’s Place in your Estate Plan

It’s never too early to think about the impact your charitable legacy will make. By incorporating simple language into your trust or will, you can ensure that the care Maggie’s Place extends to pregnant women in need continues for years to come.

A charitable bequest allows you to name Maggie’s Place to receive all or a portion of your estate through your will or trust, reducing estate taxes while creating a charitable legacy. It is one of the simplest ways you can make a lasting impact.

There are a number of ways you can make a bequest to Maggie’s Place, listed below. If you have any questions, please contact Laura Magruder at (602) 262-5555.

Specific bequest:
A specific bequest involves making a gift of a designated asset such as property, a car or a fixed dollar amount. As an example, you may wish to leave Maggie’s Place real estate such as your home or $10,000. A second kind of specific bequest involves leaving a designated percentage of your overall estate to Maggie’s Place. As an example, you may wish to leave 25% of your estate to us.

Residual Bequest:
A residual bequest is made from the balance of an estate after the will or trust has given away each of the specific bequests. A common residual bequest involves leaving a percentage of the residue from the estate. As an example, you may wish to leave 30% of the residue of your estate to Maggie’s Place.

 Designation of Purpose
If you are considering a bequest but would like to ensure that your bequest will be used only for a certain Maggie’s Place home or a specific purpose, please contact us. We can assist in crafting language to ensure your gift is used for the purpose of your choice.
