Maggie’s Place provides for the immediate physical and emotional needs of our guests including shelter, food, clothing, and a supportive community. In addition, Maggie’s Place connects them to the appropriate agencies and resources including prenatal care, health insurance, low-cost housing, and education programs.
Women can join the Maggie’s Place community at any point in their pregnancy and stay until the child is at least six months old (and sometimes longer depending on circumstance). The backgrounds of our guests, who are often in difficult and complicated situations, might include previous drug use, rape, abusive relationships, lack of understanding of self-worth, no employment experience, limited education, strained relationships with family members, poor support networks, or mental illness.
Women that are parenting or placing their child with an adoptive family are welcome. Women must be at least 18 years old and unfortunately, we are not able to house women with other dependent children in their care. Please visit here for a complete list of our eligibility requirements. Women in the early stages of recovery from addictions or in physical danger are more appropriately served by other community agencies. We will help connect these women to the agency nearest to them.
Maggie’s Place provides houses of hospitality and ongoing support to help pregnant and parenting women in need reach their goals, and welcomes them into a community filled with love and dignity.
