A Race for Maggie’s Place is a series of events in a family friendly atmosphere. There is a distance for everyone: 15K Run, 10K Run, 9K Run, 5K Run, Walk, and Stroller Push, Kids’ Dash and Diaper Dash.

By registering for A Race for Maggie’s Place, you give struggling mothers the opportunity to build a new life for themselves and enrich the life of their new child.

Event Schedule

Babies are born at all different times so our event schedule reflects that!

    • 6:15AM – Registration Opens
    • 7:03AM – 15K Run starts
    • 7:23AM – 10K Run starts
    • 7:28AM – 9K Run starts
    • 7:33AM 5K Run, Stroller Push and Walk start
    • 8:46AM – Diaper and Kids’ Dash start
    • To expedite the awards distribution, there will be no formal awards ceremony for age group winners. Age group and overall awards may be picked up at the registration tent starting at 8:15AM as results become available. The top 3 overall winners of the 15K, 10K, 9K, 5K Run and Stroller Push will be announced after the top runners in each category have finished.

Not in Tempe? Run from your own location and we will mail you your shirt and packet after the race!

Timing
The race will be chip timed using disposable chip technology by RFID Timing. Timing chips are on the reverse side of your race number. Race numbers should be worn the correct way up, pinned to the front of your shirt and worn over your belly button. Results will be available at the life results kiosk. The 5K Walk, Kids’ Dash and Diaper Dash are not timed events.

Water Stations along the course –
The 5K will have 2 water stations.
The 9K and 10K will have 4 water stations.
The 15K will have 5 water stations (1 of these is passed twice on an out and back; will also have Gatorade or Powerade)

Restroom Information –
There will be portable restrooms available near registration. For restrooms along the course, there are park restrooms at the boat marina that the 9K, 10K, and 15K will go past. All distances will pass the Beach Park which has park restrooms on the Southwest side near the splash pad (which is not along the course).

Awards
Top 3 overall male and female in the 15K Run, 10K Run, 9K Run, 5K Run, and the Stroller Push will receive medals. Age group awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in each of these distances. The prize for age group winners is an exclusive Maggie’s Place water bottle. There are no age group awards for the Stroller Push or Walk.

Shadow Runners
Interested in supporting the cause but cannot attend? Join us from afar by registering to be a Shadow Runner! You will receive your race packet via mail and can run the distance of your choice. Be sure to tag us on social media to share the experience!
Weather/Emergency Policy
Your safety is our top priority. A Race for Maggie’s Place will be held rain or shine. We will make every attempt to conduct the event as scheduled. Maggie’s Place reserves the right to change the schedule and will make every effort to make participants aware of the changes beforehand.
