Before Maggie’s Place, Nicole was surrounded by unhealthy relationships that did not support her commitment to sobriety. It was through her rehab facility that she found out about Maggie’s Place. When she found herself homeless and pregnant, the sense of community she got from the website encouraged her to make the call.

Since moving in, Nicole has been focusing on remaining sober as well as developing a strong network of support. “I’m so grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to build friendships while at Maggie’s Place. I’ve found good people to be around and they influence me to be a better person.”

In November, Nicole gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Thane. Nicole is also working towards completing the Job Training Program at Maggie’s Thrift. She is eager to develop her résumé as she seeks employment in the future. Her dream is to go back to school to become a publishing editor.

Nicole is finding joy in the little things. She doesn’t take anything for granted and understands the value of appreciating each day. “I’ve learned how to love myself more and now I know I deserve to be loved.”

“I didn’t expect this to be such a great place. Everyone works so hard to make our lives better. The help I have received to give my son what he needs has been so encouraging. It’s changed my life.”
