Improving Family Relations

Pregnancy at a young age often interrupts educational pursuits and early employment experiences. The resulting negative outcomes associated with early pregnancy include life-long poverty, lengthy spells on public assistance, periods of homelessness, traumatic stress, and inadequate parenting skills which lead to child abuse and neglect. Further, children of young moms tend to experience health problems, problems in school, and have a greater likelihood of becoming young mothers themselves.

Our programs are designed to help our mothers build stability in their life and prepare them for independent living:

  • Counseling (individual and group counseling)
  • Family Counseling
  • Support groups for families
  • Parenting support groups
  • Healthy Relationships support groups
  • 12 step peer lead addiction support groups
  • Art Healing Classes
  • VOICE– 23 week course on life skills and building self-esteem
